We tried this...
and after 40 minutes...only got one slowdown.

But this one guy held his arm out the window and made a cutting motion with his fingers.
Cheeky bastard.

I think it would be fun to

I think it would be fun to swerve towards one of the invisible rope-holders!

playing in traffic is always a good idea

I can't imagine a thing going wrong with this plan... other than the obvious pissing off drivers... or maybe breaking laws about obstructing traffic (it's always a good idea to make traffic come to a sudden and unexpected stop - ESPECIALLY right after a curve.) Good thinking guys.

Except that when there were

Except that when there were any more than two cars approaching, they didn't do it -- or they "released" the line. They also positioned themselves a good 200 yards or so from the curve, allowing the drivers plenty of time to decelerate.

Had this done to me once. It

Had this done to me once. It was at dusk when it was just dark enough that you couldn't tell for sure if the guys really had a rope or not. I was on a motorcycle. The thought of catching the rope right into my neck was just too much, so I laid the bike down at about 25 MPH, sliding under where the rope would have been. Not injured, bike scraped a bit but OK. I ran after them and if I had caught them, they would have been injured, though, or at least sore for weeks. Stupidest trick I've ever seen. Believe me, it really makes you mad to have it pulled on you, so don't try it. The motorist might have a gun, and then it REALLY wouldn't be funny!

heck, this brings back

heck, this brings back memories. Did it once walking back from the bus stop and some psychotic women stopped, yelled at us about scratching her car (ever after we'd told he there was no string/rope), did a very bad U-turn that nearly hit one of us and then attempted to stalk us home. Soon as she looked away we all bolted, and she spent the next 2 hours coasting around our neighbourhood until my friend got scared and called her mum, who in turn called the police. Apparently she'd had a knife on the passenger seat, although i didnt see it when i was being group spokeperson. Scary stuff.
